Note: Crimson Magic is an essay based on the writings of John Allee and is thus, a belief of the tradition, now known as the Allee Way - a middle pillar form of magic, that blends ceremonial magic, witchcraft and Satanism. The following does not represent the beliefs of members of the FCoS, but was written by its founder, and is presented here for one's reading enjoyment and education.
Introduction
As with the discovery of many magical formulas found to be effective through the centuries, some have been the result of trial and error experiments, while others were conceived through private revelation. It is difficult to accept this theory and practice of Crimson Magic as one's own, since while it may sound new and foreign to our western tradition, I believe it may have been practiced many centuries ago.
Practitioners of most magical traditions understand that colors have their own intrinsic powers. They each carry a certain charge of energy or vibration. While the hopelessly ignorant tend to look at magicians and label them as "black" or "white," this is done to quell their own fears. There really is no such thing; an adept knows it is all about the magician's intention. The cruelest magician with the most evil demeanor can save the life of a baby, while the well meaning mother could kill the woman next door. The same energy that is used to heal can also be used to kill. Further, that energy comes from the same source, no matter what the practitioner chooses to call it! As Anton LaVey pointed out in The Satanic Witch, those who refer to themselves or others as "white" witches are deluding themselves. LaVey points out that the term is relatively modern, having first been used in 1940 by William Seabrook.
Color magic is more common than ever before. You can not pass a new age section of a book store without seeing dozens of books on color healing, candle colors, and other creative uses of color in magic. Our use of color is not much different. Certain colors have certain vibrations that work with particular deities. As you study further, individuals work with certain colors, certain organizations work with certain colors, even certain religions work with certain colors for various festivals! There is a method to this madness and it is universal.
Some of the more astute often ask why this working is not labeled red magic. It is important that this art is not confused with the so-called "red witches," though there are some similarities in our paths. Red and crimson are not the same shades. There is a difference that is far more distinct than seen on an artist's color palette. Red carries different tones and ingredients, and with it, different associations. Red is known to carry the life force, blood, the power of Mars, aggression, and male energy, just to name a few of its aspects.
Crimson is a stronger and brighter color. While red is used in many magical traditions and a variety of religions, crimson is a distinct property of the left hand path. Crimson magick is especially dangerous because it resonates with a daemonic form, magnifying the will of the celebrant twenty-four fold. Occultists who use the term "red magick" are confused - crimson is the definitive color of a daemonic halo.
Those who have a background in color magic will notice that crimson incorporates in its very makeup the strongest colors including reds, yellows, oranges and pinks, including some black and brown. Thus, you have a very powerful vibrational tool. It can carry all the associations of red, but the strength and fire of orange, the partnering of yellow, the self-love of pink, the inner energy of black and grounding of brown.
Sending a Spell
While sending a spell or manifesting in general can become easy for an adept, once you begin working directly with a deity, it becomes more difficult. Working with nature's flow is elementary, working on another plane presents a new set of challenges. One cannot "will" a primal force in nature to do your bidding since it represents a source through which life becomes animated. However, these forms do possess intelligence and behave as energy amplifiers and equalizers. With proper concentration and correct focus, you can "bounce" a spell off a god form and expect to feel your power directed back at you in the same manner it was sent, magnified incrementally! This measurable and testable effect can be illustrated.
One Christian stumbled upon Crimson magick accidentally! He decided to "throw a curse" on the devil. Having gone through special preparation, he procured a black voodoo doll anointed with holy water and several glass head pins - a small altar in the corner of the attic was lit with candles. As he raised each pin, he stabbed an organ or limb and proclaimed, "I curse your (hand, foot, heart, groin) in the name of Jesus Christ!" After the ritual, he headed down the stairs, tripped and fell and fractured a hip. During my hospital visit, he explained how the devil had gotten his revenge. I explained how the devil had not done a blessed thing - his energy had become intensified, then reflected back to him. I quoted this passage from LaVey's Bible, "Bring forth the legions of the army of Hell, that the Lord of the Abyss may be magnified, whose name amongst ye is Wrath!" Finally, I had put the fear of Satan in someone! (pun intended)
The sad note to the above is that though his spell was effective, he could not understand that he had caused his own injury. It is amazing that so many mundanes and magicians often sabotage themselves consciously and subconsciously in this way. What never ceases to amuse me is how quickly Christians are quick to curse anyone or anything which threatens their shaky beliefs, then they damn the left hand path for this very activity.
Fun with the Fundies
While most of the Christian/Fundamentalist/Born-Again types damn their own brethren and original keepers of their faith, the Catholic Church, as being pagan, again they are confused. It is the Church that has written and rewritten the original text of the Bible that they consider the actual word of God. American Christians take this book as gospel, but slam the Church as they do so. Jesus himself states to treat one's brother as one would treat himself, yet the Born Agains have not yet figured out that the Catholics are the fundies' brothers and sisters. Even other Christians who do not exactly agree with their political agendas end up being labeled "pagans." Such a dirty word! It would short circuit the intelligent brain if you spend too much time trying to understand their logic.
Of course, fundies were the first to point fingers at the accused priests of the Catholic Church before they were even proven guilty. They forget the events of the past two decades prior to this publication of this document; the rather sad cases involving Jim and Tammy Bakker and the air conditioned dog house, Jimmy Swaggart, and the many other evangelists who have used their God to procure everything from sex with secretaries, prostitutes and money from those who can least afford it.
The person who continues to make the most money from the Satanic movement in America continues to be Bob Larson and his ministries. He spews his beliefs on his radio programs and his books. He begs for money without any kind of remorse, as he truly believes he is somehow saving people from themselves. Unfortunately, this is the same man could not even say a nice word about a dead man. He forgot that adage about not speaking ill of the dead. On the day that the death of rock star Kurt Cobain, lead singer of the Seattle grunge band Nirvana, was announced, his comment to one caller was that Cobain went around "wearing a dress."
Larson's program did not responsibly discuss the problems that could lead to depression, or issues concerning gun control, or even issues involving drug abuse, instead Larson decided to point out the evils of rock and roll and "devil music" plus his usual rants. He could have made a difference that day. He could have earned the respect of parents if he had addressed the problem from a Christian perspective. I am not the only one who tuned in to see how this important issue would be handled. It was a definitive day for every minister who deals with teens.
For many teens of all faiths (especially the unchurched teen) Cobain was their idol, if not a God form in a way. Larson had an opportunity to make a real difference. He could have turned this tragedy into something good, but instead he turned it into a total train wreck. America was listening; the world was waiting. He was simply not up to the challenge. To put it in his religion's terms, if you liken his situation to Christ and Satan, this time the adversary won, hands down.
The Power of Words
George Harrison wrote a song, utilizing a term from the old American South - the devil's radio. It is a great term for gossip. It also is a great term for the untruths often spread on the internet and by the media. Often such jabber, gets the more intelligent person to search for the truth. Whether the adept comes from the right hand path or the left hand path, the well trained are early taught that words have power.
Think back to the last time you had a fight with a loved one. You can damage a prized possession by mistake, ruin a favorite article of clothing in the wash, delete something on their computer, and still that does not end a relationship. If you want to irrevocably ruin a relationship, you do it through words. Top marriage counselors will tell you a marriage is not ruined by actual infidelity, but by whom and how the other partner finds out. Again it is all in the words.
I have been a teacher and minister of Satanism and the left hand path for over three decades and my wife has been a teacher of witchcraft and a minister for over two decades. Because we come from opposite sides, there are many things we do not agree on. One thing we absolutely agree on is the power of words. The most important thing we can impart to any student is the choice of words in rituals and spells. One word can change a blessing to a curse. One word can turn an effective spell into a dud. This is a universal truth and it is true in any language. Words have power. They ultimate carry your intent. You must remember this.
The Responsible Magician
Crimson Magic is dangerous because we are dealing with intrusive force, not just the "bending of probability." With a simple meditation exercise, you can raise your kundalini, possibly far in advance of your ability to emotionally and psychologically handle it. Only you can be the judge of whether this is the right decision for you. Within the occult community, you will find those who overestimate their abilities. Some have been burned by their own bravado. Many have learned lessons. Sadly, some have become tragedies and had to seek psychological help due to their own ineptness.
There are those walking the left hand path on the other side of the spectrum. One cannot sometimes help but laugh at the "rationalists-turned-magical-authorities." The rationalists who love to dabble in the occult are everywhere! They often cause problems for themselves and others without realizing it. Before they'll brandish that wand or sword or repeat an incantation, they must first be convinced they are not making absolute fools of themselves. And so they delve into the writings of the mystic Crowley, a poet inspired to publish a few gems amidst copious labyrinths of masturbatory musings. The rationalist's objective is to baffle his critical faculties, so they'll shut down. Now he can perform his magic with a minimum of mental distraction. For some individuals, the shortest distance between two points is never a straight line! Unfortunately, a confused, drunk, or drugged wannabe magician is a prescription for disaster. Stay away from them ... far away. Do not attempt Crimson Magic if you are under the influence of anything or anyone but yourself.
According to Satanists, magic is an art that requires the "suspension of disbelief," but isn't "faith" a more succinct term? Hell forbid that modern Satanists adopt words like "faith" into their vocabulary. What would become of us? For those of you who are not familiar with my works or my belief system, let me briefly explain that I am far from your typical Satanist. While many will say that Satanism is the reverse of Christianity and not a pagan religion, I strongly disagree. The role of the adversary has been around in religion since religion began. One did not have to have "Satan." The Egyptians had Set, for example. Pwyll in the Welsh myths had an adversarial streak to his personality. Lancelot proved to be the ultimate Judas in the Arthurian Cycle. The Northern tradition is ripe with Loki. One cannot forget Ereshkigal. It is all on how you choose to define your faith. I feel that Satanism can be an earth-based religion, since Satanism itself is based on the here and now, not on an imaginary future kingdom. We also understand these powers as ceremonial magicians - they are not simply tied to a Judeo-Christian root. It is amusing to realize that Jews were thought to possess magical powers back in medieval times. Depending on the culture, Christians believed the Jew gained these powers from making a deal with the devil. These beliefs extended to other non-Christian religions, such as various pagan religions. The Inquisition was one horrific consequence of these beliefs.
It's All About You
The joy of being your own God is being able to create your own belief system. You decide how you wish to see your faith. Do not let others tell you how to believe or what to believe or you'll truly find yourself on the wrong path!
For the following rituals and exercises to be effective, you must believe in the existence of the All One; a first cause, grand designer or creator/creatrix of the universe. If you are sitting there, reading an Ayn Rand novel, pondering chaos theory, or calculating the mathematical probability of sentient life elsewhere in the universe, you are wasting your time. Crimson magick will not help you and will not work for you. At some point you have to take that "leap of faith" to do effective magic at this level. If you are not ready, that is fine. You may continue to study. We need people like you to balance the magicians in this movement. Just respect that there are some who believe and some who prefer not to.
It is important that you create God in your own image, just as humans have always done, but it should be an image you've secretly favored. If you have a print of the deity or a statue sitting on your altar, it may help you focus, but a clear mental image is all you'll ever need.
Angels and Daemons
There are some humans who believe they are direct representations of angelic or daemonic forms. In my way of thinking, angels and daemons are the same order of light being. You will even find Christians agreeing to this concept. At the time of this writing, the world population is approximately 6,253,082,868 people; approximately 300 of them are nephilim (angelic or daemonic beings). Far from being divine, these individuals simply respond differently to energy than the average person. Most will act as amplifiers or equalizers. There are more than 300 who have this "gift" to a more limited degree. These people, while gifted in some ways, are cursed in others. Some Wiccan or Witches will call these people feys, the Celts would say they had the gift of second sight; other occultists simply call them adepts; the name changes according to the environment and culture. While some people insist that what is being referred to is a learned trait, it should be more correctly seen as a genetic propensity. It is a skill that is natural and can be honed through training. There has never been research as to whether one without any innate talent could produce the amplification, so that is left to occult theory. It would be interesting to see this done in a scientific setting. There have now been actual scientific studies done on psychic vampyrism (see sources below). There is hope that such studies will be completed in the future.
Before the critically minded, left brained, left hand pather believes I have let my mind wander into the land of make-believe with this talk of fairy folk, read carefully what I have to say. Do not confuse the use of the word "fey" with today's airy fairy ideas. Here we are speaking of the ancient god forms, the Tuatha de Danaan. Fairies are found in all cultures in the world. Do your own research. They are not all diminutive sprites and certainly not all happy and light. In many cultures, not just the Celtic, they retreated into the land. Like the Judeo-Christian demons and angels, they have supernatural powers and a history of unusual positive and negative interactions with humans. From these meetings, come the tales of the changelings (or babies resulting from a union of a fey and mortal), disappearances of a mortal and loss of time. You will find that these same themes are found again and again, even in our modern culture, this time attributed to UFO activities.
The fey are also not that dissimilar to the concept of the nephilim. Here are some examples of the traits of a nephilim (or fey or whatever term you wish to use):
If an individual is around one, they may at first fear there is a vamping of energy, but no energy is lost. The energy in the room is being manipulated somehow. An individual may sense it, but not be able to figure out the source. A nephilim can amplify the emotions or feelings in a room without realizing it. A nephilim's natural shielding will send an individual's emotions back to them. Take for example, a person who is angry at a nephilim and is simmering at him. The person may have that anger amplified back at him to a degree where the person is sure the nephilim is either sending hate or actively cursing him! On the other hand, a night of pleasure with a nephilim can be pure ecstasy.
Again, the nephilim will mirror your feelings back to you at a multiplied rate. Often those involved in the occult may have been involved in a relationship with someone with a touch of fey blood. As mentioned previously, it is believed there are about 300 (this is my own personal estimation) of the "heavy duty" variety if you will, but there may be thousands of those who exhibit the trait to a lesser extent. Because I am not convinced that it is not a genetic based trait, it could be that it may be as simple as a dominant-recessive situation. Obviously, it could be something that is both genetic and a personality trait. Science may be able to answer these questions in the future. For now, it is left to conjecture. You are free to dismiss this, or theorize as I do.
If you run into one of these feys, as I call them, they may be of the left hand path. They will, however, buck it constantly. The dark feys will constantly try to add the mystery or gothic elements to their belief systems. For the purist, this will be a constant cause of frustration. It can also be amusing. These are the ones who truly embrace earth-based Satanism and dark paganism. They will not understand the efficacy of the Black Mass or anything to do with traditional Satanism that reverses Church dogma. Some may be described as "fluffy," but do not be so quick to dismiss them. Others may have more of an ancient approach to their magick. Listen to their logic. You may find that their darkness just does not vibrate with anything except a pre-Christian belief system. You will find these people particularly fond of Set, Ereskigal, Loki, and the shades of Hades, for example.
As you begin to increase your abilities in Crimson magic and other workings, you will find there are many paths to the same source. Do not be so quick to cast off a possible resource. There are going to be the fey types that will magnify negative attributes in your personality or negative energies in your grotto. Remove them from your presence or group. These people do contribute to a toxic relationship or to negative relationships which will lead to the breakdown of a group.
Any psychologist will say you can not change an individual. Satanists believe in free will, above all. Get out of unhealthy relationships and unhealthy situations that will damage group dynamics. Feys can be addictive. You will find that some of these types can almost succeed in selling even the most salty Satanist the Brooklyn Bridge! Know this ahead of time. They are as adept as a Satanic Witch in using their charms, and worse, many do so unconsciously. These people are men and women. It is not just a sexual thing - you will find them in business and extracurricular pursuits. They are the ones who bubble with enthusiasm. Chances are if it is too good to be true, it usually is not true.
The nephilim are human with a touch of otherworldliness, so they have this attitude of walking between worlds. Sometimes their morals are not the common or accepted codes. Often they will exhibit a love-hate relationship with humanity in general. People in turn tend to love or hate these nephilim, as there is nothing mediocre about them. The nephilim are a limited example of the Crimson Magic effect. Because they have natural shielding, most senders exhibit an eighteen fold return on their emotional investment.
Normally, if you are sending any negative emotions, you would not want that kind of return. Most occultists also will reasonably shy away from any bounce-back or boomerang effect in magic. Here is where it gets interesting.
There are the primal forces of nature and then there are the originators or co-creators (god and goddess). If you attempt to bounce energy off any nephilim's daemonic form, you will experience an eighteen-fold return. However, should you focus on the Creator, your return will be twenty-four fold! Choosing a deity resembling the Creator is therefore more efficacious. Herein lies the problem and a solution:
The Creator has roughly seven million names and he answers to every one of them in every language, right down to local or regional dialects. Going back through history, the role of Aiwass has been as God's messenger (male aspect).
In the past, I have been criticized for my following statement, but I will continue to make it; I believe I am one of the nephilim. This does not come from an "inflated ego," but from the experiences of others who have tried to send emotions to me. I have also had spells, both positive and negative, bounce back. While this can be a very handy situation, it can also be annoying. While I have had a witch work a weight loss spell for me, it was very disheartening to find that she was losing weight very easily, while I was not losing as quickly. Understand that I do not think that I am the only nephilim in the occult movement or inhabiting this planet. There are quite a few that I know of; I am honored to know a few personally. They choose to not come out and announce what they are. The nephilim aspect of the person would be called the daemonic form. This form would also have a name. My form's name is Aiwass. It is that simple and that complicated. This information came to me through private revelation. You may choose to believe it or not.
Transmigration of Souls
Further, I have cited some revolutionary views on reincarnation. This also has put me in the "hot seat" in the occult community. I still stand by what I have said. I will explain it further. I believe in actual reincarnation - the transmigration of souls. This is not necessarily a Satanist view, it is my own view. I also believe one can be given information through the collective unconscious, as Jung called it, or the akashic records or whatever name you're accustomed to. Either way, it is the vast storehouse of information in our universe. In such cases, one may not have been the actual person, but may be experiencing the memories of a thought form or god form, or even a cartoon character! This could be through dreams, visualizations, path workings ... a variety of situations.
I use this theory to explain how more than one person can claim to be Cleopatra. While we make jokes, it might explain why this happens. Think of it from a science fiction viewpoint where the person time travels for a snippet of that life to see or learn something. We all have met a few reincarnated Isises, Marilyn Monroes, and Julius Caesars. Certainly, it could all be hogwash. There is a possibility, however, that it is not.
Armed with this information, understand that I once experienced "something" in which I felt I was Heracles (Hercules), born of a mortal woman as a publicity stunt hatched by Zeus, the Creator. The ploy worked, of course, and Hercules became a hero to the Greek people and the perfect liaison or messenger. I wish to make a salient point, however; during this time, Hercules had a daemon brother, Pan, who now he seems to have taken the place of Zeus as the male counterpart to the goddess in the Wicca religion! This would seem to pose a problem if your objective is to strictly focus your concentration on a deity representing the Creator. You can avoid confusion simply by addressing the deity this way; "I call upon [any name], Creator of All Things!" Don't delude yourself into thinking one pet name for the Creator is more efficacious than another or that a mispronunciation will not resonate with his true form - what matters most is your intent. The same is true of the mystery involving the correct pronunciation of "Aiwass" - no one has gotten it right, but he responds nonetheless. For the record, we will break it down phonetically for you; ahh - whey - ess. The first part, "ahh" is what you say when the doctor takes out his tongue depressor, next comes "whey" as in "curds and whey" and finally "ess" as in "dress." Repeat until it smoothes out. Aiwass is ingrained in the psyche of the consumer as the devil (Scratch). The supposedly secret masonic brotherhood calling itself the Illuminati worships Loki, the trickster, yet another form! And who can forget Montu, the hawk-headed warrior god of Thebes, etc.
There have been times in earth's history when the gods took no effort to hide their true identities. Those were times we've lived to regret; being blamed for things we had no hand in, being praised for things that were the result of your own ingenuity; same as you do in your prayers to your God today! In those days, mortals would sometimes create a spectacle in the marketplace when one of us walked by. If there was any reason to live atop a mountain, isolated from the populace, it was due to the fact we felt ostracized. Of course, there was also the redundancy of false daemons - people claiming to be daemons who really weren't. Upon reading this magical treatise, the adept should be able to easily devise a method determining true from false. It is important to remember that, before the gods became cosmic celebrities, they traveled the same path of spiritual and physical evolution as everyone else, crawled out of the primordial ooze, like everyone else, swung through the trees, put their socks and shoes on one foot at a time, like everyone else. We begged on street corners, were stricken with leprosy and malaria, endured countless lives being no one of particular importance.
I have given you a lot of information above, but please note some of the more important points. These theories do not necessarily work against the main tenet of Satanism: you are your own God. In essence, they enhance that relationship and bring it to a richer understanding of your path. The deeper knowledge should in turn bring you to a deeper communion with deity. Although different people and different cultures use different names , we all can recognize the God for who He is and all that He is. It also does not discount the existence of a Goddess as we recognize there are women who are Satanists as well. We do not discount the possibility of a God and a Goddess or a multitude of Gods if you will, making up the All, since every man and woman in Satanism is considered to be his own God. Again, it is your path - you write your own dogma. We have to take care not to pigeonhole ourselves into believing only a certain way or segmenting our thoughts.
The nephilim alive today practice a variety of religions: Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, Taoist, Wiccan, Satanist, etc. The nephilim tend to be able to identify with all belief systems and do not care what anyone chooses as their religious label. This attitude is perhaps best expressed in John Godfrey Saxe's (1816-1887) version of a famous Indian legend:
It was six men of Indostan
To learning much inclined,
Who went to see the Elephant
(Though all of them were blind),
That each by observation
Might satisfy his mind. The First approached the Elephant,
And happening to fall
Against his broad and sturdy side,
At once began to bawl:
"God bless me! but the Elephant
Is very like a wall!"The Second, feeling of the tusk
Cried, "Ho! what have we here,
So very round and smooth and sharp?
To me `tis mighty clear
This wonder of an Elephant
Is very like a spear!"The Third approached the animal,
And happening to take
The squirming trunk within his hands,
Thus boldly up he spake:
"I see," quoth he, "the Elephant
Is very like a snake!"The Fourth reached out an eager hand,
And felt about the knee:
"What most this wondrous beast is like
Is mighty plain," quoth he;
"'Tis clear enough the Elephant
Is very like a tree!"The Fifth, who chanced to touch the ear,
Said: "E'en the blindest man
Can tell what this resembles most;
Deny the fact who can,
This marvel of an Elephant
Is very like a fan!"The Sixth no sooner had begun
About the beast to grope,
Than, seizing on the swinging tail
That fell within his scope.
"I see," quoth he, "the Elephant
Is very like a rope!"And so these men of Indostan
Disputed loud and long,
Each in his own opinion
Exceeding stiff and strong,
Though each was partly in the right,
And all were in the wrong!Moral:
So oft in theologic wars,
The disputants, I ween,
Rail on in utter ignorance
Of what each other mean,
And prate about an Elephant
Not one of them has seen!Everything in Moderation?
In nature, everything is balanced. The Hermetic Laws are clear on this. Around you, in the physical world, everything exists due to tension and balance and cause and effect. Think about parallel universes, time line shifts and how geo-magnetic forces effect the cosmic buffer. Due to the wobbling of the earth's axis, humankind is in for a very unpleasant surprise in the not too distant future - a blurring of realities, past and present.
Before the Big Bang, the god and the goddess were One (Satan and Babalon looked upon from this perspective is ideal, since the image of the androgyne Sat + Tan cannot possibly serve our purpose magically, as you'll soon find out). Now that the Universe is formed, there is duality and paradox in everything we see. Satan is the architect, builder, destroyer. Babalon is the life-giver, nurturer, protector. The yin/yang symbol beautifully illustrates the interplay between these forces, creating balance and change. They define, compliment and complete one another. For the sake of simplicity, we are sticking with Satanic iconography. We could just as easily portrayed the god and goddess as Set and Nephthys, Vishnu and Lakshmi, Zeus and Hera, Manawyddan and Rhiannon, the Lord of the Hunt and the Lady of Wild Things or whatever happens to thrill or titillate you.
Many people have asked me what I believe about the future or in terms of what will happen from a religious viewpoint to the world. Briefly, here is my basic belief. There will be two ages. During an Age of Fire, Satan becomes the power that magnifies, world religions become patriarchal and Babalon lies dormant. During an Age of Ice, Babalon is the power that magnifies, world religions become matriarchal and Satan lies dormant. The only exception to this rule are daemons who are either of the god (Satan) or of the goddess (Babalon).
For example, since Aiwass is of the god, Satan will always represent the force which magnifies his power. There also exists a female aspect of Aiwass, whose power is strictly magnified by the goddess. When a daemon meets his or her counterpart, the relationship is like heaven and hell. It will be instinctual for the two to maintain separation and balance. I would liken our relationship to a boy and a girl on a seesaw or teeter-totter - while one is up, the other is down, but there's that brief level moment when both sides catch an equal glimpse. When both sides come together, perfection is realized but with it comes that exquisite fear of annihilation. Why? The nature of reality is such that perfection cannot be maintained because change is the universal constant. This explains the big bang and the big crunch - in the beginning the co-creators separate and sub-divide. In the end, they come together and the universe is sucked into a black hole. The two then realize perfection as one, which sparks another Big Bang - we're back to square one.
Soul Mates
More astute readers will find that I have revisited my views on the animus/anima or soul mate issue. Since my last writing, many know that I found this woman and the event has marked yet another milestone in my life. "Found" is not really a correct word since we have known each other for two decades, yet she and I kept our distance from each other, physically, geographically and emotionally, while remaining friends. Looking back on that alone, tends to amaze me.
From the critically minded side, I can tell you, that I honestly had no idea how she felt. Being the bunny that she is, she always scampered out of reach. She was younger and less experienced, and I pretty much ignored her, I'm afraid to say. I knew she had a lot to learn when I first met her. She was very hung up on herself and her life. She will even admit to that. I was not her type. She was the preppie type and first degree witch, trying to live a double life. She was also in that phase of development where she believed there was a difference between "black and white" witches. She was working on her first degree. Meanwhile, being a blonde 24 years old in the media, she was in that shallow phase that women get into. She knew she had that feminine power over men and enjoyed using it. I was not going to let her. This teed her off and so that in itself made her remember me.
I will not lie and say I recognized her as my anima. I did know I had to meet her and approach her for some reason. I did know I had to let her know who I was and what Satanism was about.
From her side, I scared her to death. She was not sure if I was a serial killer or the most interesting person she had ever met. She admits that either way she knew I would somehow change her life. She claims to have felt a sexual charge, but it was not strong enough to overcome her fear. She was afraid to ask me out or even procure my phone number. We both knew we would find each other again and we did. For twenty years, she knew how to reach me and where I was, but rarely contacted me except to get together occasionally. She got married and had a successful broadcasting and advertising career. She continued to develop and grow as a Witch.
When the death of my internet persona, Lord Egan, was announced, she became very open about our long term friendship, and her feelings about me. She became even more protective and while she was often attacked by my detractors, she became particularly relentless. It was during this time FCoS members realized who she was and how long she and I had been friends. To her credit, even when she was a little newbie in the craft community, she had never tried to use me to make a name for herself. Further, as she came into her own, and was criticized for being my friend, she never once denied our friendship. She put herself and her own position in the Salem community on the line more than once by refusing to give up her association with me. I never understood why this "fluffy bunny" felt the urge to stick up for the "biggest, baddest Satanist" in town. She had a lot to lose, and nothing to gain. But it all makes sense now.
This was the first time since we had met that we were both free from other committed relationships so we could pursue each other. Perhaps it is finally time. We have both done our time in service. I had done my thirty years in service to the horned God; she had given her 20 to the Goddess. It seems that now our remaining years will be spent serving together.
While I continue to learn and grow spiritually, it is never easy to deal with one so like oneself, yet so opposite. It can be damning! The frustration and the pain involved in learning about myself and my anima fortunately are balanced by the pleasure and happiness such a union evokes. It is particularly significant to both of us as we were looking for a worthy magical partner. On all levels, we have met our match. Within this, for our students and others, are lessons to be learned about all relationships. It is very easy to confuse the tensions and balancing that is natural between two willful and prideful individuals as problematic. If you label anything as a problem, it will become that. In a relationship, label your emotions for what they really are. Men often label their fears as anger or feelings of being trapped. Women label their feelings of insecurity as ambivalence toward the relationship. It is important that there be communication on all planes.
Being soul mates is not enough to make a marriage last. A relationship has to be cultivated like a precious flowering plant, so it will grow and produce beautiful blossoms for years to come.
Grounding Exercise
After performing each of the following magical exercises, it is perhaps wise to use the following grounding technique to align your chakras.
* Stand tall with both feet together, arms relaxed down by your sides, palms open.
* Inhale as you normally would, then hold your breath for about ten seconds.
* During this suspension, visualize celestial light coming straight down through the top of your skull (crown chakra), washing down through your torso and finally exiting through the soles of your feet to the earth below.
* Once the flow feels smooth and even, exhale and begin to breathe normally.
* As you do, mentally tie off the flow beneath the soles of your feet, then do the same above your crown where the light source entered. As you practice this grounding technique, you may come across another that you feel more comfortable with, one that feels right. Do not hesitate to use it. This applies to every magickal text you have ever read or will ever read. Your approach to magic is a means of self expression - it's what makes you the god or goddess of your own life.
Raising the Kundalini
This exercise stimulates nerve endings and open neural pathways you never knew you had. You might experience some momentary pain or discomfort. If you tend to be neurotic or anxious, this exercise may magnify that condition along with your other emotions. Our main objective is to bring about your awakening, rapidly increase your psychic powers and intellectual capacity.
* Sit comfortably on a chair or sofa as you normally would (you may fold your legs into the lotus position familiar with students of yoga)
* Imagine the goat man or devil sitting the same way, facing towards you.
* In your mind you speak to him, quietly acknowledging his existence. "Lord Satan, Creator of All Things, I summon the fiery serpent within you to rise and lift its head! Your kundalini power is rising, increasing, rising, increasing. Awaken to full power!"
* Focus and visualize this energy, focusing on the red sex chakra.
* Visualize this energy entering the base of his spine, slowly climbing up until it reaches the top of Satan's head.
* Watch the energy coming through the opening of the thousand pedaled lotus where on the top of his skull, the energy resembles a thousand sparklers during a celebration. Some experts will insist in order to do this properly, you must pause to charge each chakra as kundalini rises up the spinal column. I find this unnecessary. Study the chakras in the body as it should be a part of your basic training. Try it both ways and see which works best for you.
Always remain focused. You may also see the red dissipate as it goes through the body into a pink and then come out as a hot white light. This is also to be expected for some. If using the goat god does not work for you, any god form will be fine. A female form is also perfectly acceptable. Repeat this mental exercise for at least twenty minutes - morning is the best time. Adopting the proper attitude is very important; perform these exercises for the greater glory of Satan, but remember you reap what you sow. The wondrous irony is, since you are a sentient expression of the Creator, you are the one who benefits.
Glamour and Invisibility
Impossible? We are not just talking Jedi mind tricks. Mass hypnosis is a tangible, verifiable phenomenon and not the work of science fiction. The uses of glamour and invisibility are endless. These feats are difficult to accomplish the first time, but once you've succeeded and begin to gain confidence, they become quite simple.
Glamour involves charging the aura of a sentient or non-sentient thing to such a degree that the mind of the casual onlooker is tricked into seeing something that really isn't there. It raises some interesting questions about how we perceive reality.
Glamour can be used in the commission of a crime or a love spell. It is all about one's intent. The bottom line is, what the receiver interprets is not really there. I have used the example of a magician who was a criminal. Using glamour to pass pieces of paper off as money, he repeated a mantra or hypnotic command over and over again, "The paper I hand the cashier has the look and feel of a genuine twenty dollar bill." There is a reason why he chose the false appearance of a twenty and not a one-hundred dollar bill - closer scrutiny could shatter the glamour if it was weak to begin with.
The gentleman then proceeded to cut pieces of blank paper to approximated the size of the note. During his trip to the market, he made a purchase and handed the cashier a blank slip of paper, but his own nervousness shattered the illusion - the cashier looked down and realized she was making change for a bill that wasn't there! He fumbled, replaced it with the correct cash in his wallet, but that did not dampen his spirits. The next day our roguish friend meditated two hours undisturbed, then used the same ploy on a different cashier. He was successful this time and thereafter, discovered something amazing; once the glamour is set in place, it will last twenty-four hours before it begins to dissipate. This is true of individual glamours, as opposed to glamours cast by groups of nine, which tend to have an exponential effect lasting weeks!
To the person(s) casting the glamour, nothing has changed - everything appears completely normal. Success is gauged through results. There are some caveats. Obviously, I do not encourage breaking the law. Secondly, not every person is going to be affected by your charms. You are warned. It is far more fun and less dangerous to put a glamour on yourself or a friend who needs a date. Go to your favorite "watering hole" after you have made him or her the "most attractive" or "the perfect mate" and let the games begin.
Women need to use glamour prudently. Adding sex into your glamour can be fun, but also dangerous. Remember the adage "be careful what you wish for." Lillee recalls a witch at college who threw a glamour on herself so all the men would want to sleep with her. The girl was the victim of a vicious gang rape and left college after that. Witches and magicians need to think through their intentions before they put them into action.
When covens, grottos, or groups of witches gather together to cast a glamour, they mean business. One incident involved a group that wanted their location kept secret. They had used an invisibility spell on their house, I shattered it. Why did I bother? The group allegedly had ties with the Illuminati. The point here is that many groups and individuals use invisibility. It is not Hollywood. These people or objects do not actually become non-existent, but they do fall so far in the background, they are simply unnoticed. It is as if the prettiest girl in the class suddenly became Plain Jane. No one would notice her. What happens when a celebrity wears a successful disguise? He or she is able to fade into the crowd. This is how it works. People don't remember seeing the person or thing - there is nothing special about them or it. Glamour is usually used to enhance one's attributes, while the invisibility spells are used to remove distinguishing aspects. Invisibility is nothing more than a glamour intended to give the illusion something isn't there when, in fact, it is.
The most common use of Crimson Magick is the creation of self-glamour. Since this involves charging your own aura, you'll find it difficult putting things past friends and relatives. Here's why: Imagine you are walking to and from school or work everyday. You pass down the same street and notice a small pebble in the middle of the road. For the next four or five days, you make it a point to notice that small pebble every time you pass by. Thereafter, you'll find you don't even have to think about it - every time you pass by, your eyes fix briefly on that pebble, something you would normally not notice. Similarly, your friends and relatives have already identified the real you - a glamour intended to mask reality could fail.
Invisibility Exercise
Try this regularly and monitor your results
1. Sit comfortably on a chair or sofa as you normally would (or fold your legs into the lotus position familiar with students of yoga.)
2. Imagine the goat man or devil sitting the same way, facing towards you. In your mind you speak to him, quietly acknowledging his existence. "Lord Satan, Creator of All Things, you are now invisible. People see through you as if you were not there."
3. Visualize Satan vanishing before your eyes.Experiment. Do this for a few hours then step outside. Success is determined by the way others interact with you. If you fail, keep practicing. Practice every day until you begin to see results. (see notes on the first exercise)
Choose It and Use It
I know two adepts who played a mean trick on a man living at home with his mother. They successfully turned themselves invisible, then proceeded to knock on this man's door. He opened it, looked around and saw no one. In the meantime, both slipped inside the house invisibly. Soon after, they proceeded to switch lights on and off, cause pictures to fly across the room and chairs to stack themselves on the kitchen table. Later, the two quietly let themselves out, the way they came in. The man and his mother were convinced the house was haunted with poltergeists and promptly sold the house.
Yes, you can use Crimson magic for such things if you really want to. I would not suggest it. Most people ask me about using Crimson Magic for career and love magic. The answer is of course you can! The benefits of the glamour and invisibility exercises in the board room and in private meetings cannot be underestimated. Many an adept has gotten a position or a raise, by sending the right signals... literally!
The uses of the kundalini exercise and the others in the love category are also endless. Glamour can even the odds in a market where the superficial seems to rule. In our youth obsessed, looks-obsessed society, it is hard to get someone to take a second glance if you are not that perfect ten. With some glamour, you will have an edge. For the more attractive magician, to avoid being bothered during an outing, a little invisibility can go a long way. With Crimson Magick anything is possible. Remember to state your intent clearly.
"Lord Satan, Creator of All Things, when (men/women) look upon your physical form, they see their ideal mate!" Once again, notice the wording - it is as if you were casting the spell upon the deity and not upon yourself. The result will be an amplified self-glamour.
Make sure you state which sex you wish to attract if you are heterosexual. A rather amusing story comes from a witch who simply stated that she would find the perfect companion. Instead of a lover, she found a homeless golden retriever!
This kind of magick adds a whole new dimension for bisexual and gay witches as well. It is important to avoid politically correct English which could mask your true intentions. Finding the perfect roommate for a gay man is not proper if he really wants a relationship with a live-in lover! A heterosexual girl should not simply state she is looking for the man of her dreams if she is wanting to meet the man she will marry. She may simply end up meeting Tom Cruise and getting his autograph. On a similar note, a man should not ask for just any job, but the job that will give him the money, recognition and esteem he needs and deserves.
Pursue the path of inspiration and indulgence through Crimson Magic. Enjoy the knowledge of the spiritual and mundane planes in your personal and professional life. Use your newfound powers to bring joy to yourself and others. May you receive what you truly desire in this life.
