When Can I Start Using Magic? by Lillee Allee

Whether you are embarking upon a light or dark path, eventually you will ask yourself about magical practices. Some people prefer to study magic only in theory. Because they are not as adept as others, they prefer to excel in other fields, and do not involve themselves in magical practice.

The decision to perform magic should be one that is yours and yours alone. It is sometimes hard to make such an important decision when you feel that you are so new to your path.

First, understand that you need to believe in yourself. Second, know that all of us have had our little wobbles as we have walked along. I have been a figure skating teacher and I have never had a student who starts spinning and doing axels during their first lesson. In other words, sometimes your fanny may spend a few minutes on the cold, hard ice. It's true of any new skill.

There are some questions you can ask yourself so that you can effectively examine your feelings, motives and confidence level;

Do I feel comfortable with my spirituality and what I believe?
Do I fully understand what magic is and the limits or rules of magic?
Can I define how magic works and do I understand the basics well enough to try my first experiment?
Do I know what type of magic I would like to start with and what path I wish to walk?
Have I done any meditation or alpha or path working?
Can I fully claim responsibility for anything that I cause or will this idea make me uncomfortable?
Why do I wish to start doing magic?
Why do I wish to start practicing now?
Am I going to practice magic to enhance my self or impress others?
Can I explain how actions on the mundane level correspond with effective magical workings?

These are ten questions you can ask yourself before you go forward. You do not have to answer to anyone but yourself. If you wish to have some input or discuss your answers, do not hesitate to contact me and I will be glad to correspond with you personally or assign you a minister.
